Zone Bandipora successfully hosted Day 3 of the Inter-School Zonal Level Athletics Meet on 18th September at Adnan Park Ground. The event was organized by Youth Services and Sports Bandipora under the supervision of DYSSO Bandipora, Mr. Nazir Ahmad Bhat.
A large number of young athletes participated with great enthusiasm, competing for top honors. The first, second, and third positions were keenly contested, and winners were felicitated with medals 🏅, recognizing their hard work and sporting spirit.

Today’s competitions brought together Boys U17 & U19 from Zone Bandipora and, who showcased remarkable enthusiasm and sporting spirit. From powerful throwing events to thrilling running races, the arenas were filled with cheers, determination, and healthy competition.
Medals were awarded to the top three position holders, celebrating their hard work and inspiring their peers to strive for excellence.

This campaign, running from September 17 to October 2, is designed to honor PM Modi's lifelong dedication to the spirit of 'seva' (service).
Almost 20 students from different classes participated in this event. The principal of the school and Forest Officer Bandipora were also part of this event.
Due to this activity, Students became aware that Sewa Parv is a national initiative to celebrate the spirit of Sewa (service) as the truest form of patriotism, contributing to the end goal of VIKSIT BHARAT Many saplings were planted in the surroundings of the school.
Caring for the saplings taught the students practical gardening skills and instilled a sense of responsibility in them. This activity encouraged students to investigate how and why things happen in nature, improved their critical and creative thinking abilities....

Another National Achievement for AGS Bandipora!
Shabnam, Principal of Army Goodwill School Bandipora, has received yet another National Award at the prestigious B. R. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi. The award was presented by Arise Excellence in Education & FICCI in collaboration with Govt. of NCT Delhi, in the presence of Shri Sandeep Singh, Hon’ble Minister for Basic Education (UP) and Shri Asish Sood, Hon’ble Minister of Education (Delhi).
Among 2,200 entries from private and government schools across India under the categories of Experiential Learning, Sports, and Digitisation, only 18 awards and 7 jury recognitions were conferred – and AGS Bandipora emerged as the only winning school in Experiential Learning.

Today, Gopi Singh Rathore Army Goodwill School Bandipora celebrated National Space Day with great enthusiasm. The program commenced with an enlightening speech highlighting the significance of Space Day. This was followed by a Space Day Exhibition, in which nearly 80 students participated enthusiastically.
The exhibition featured three categories—Primary, Middle, and Secondary—where students showcased creative models based on the theme “Rockets, Satellites, and the Solar System.”
In recognition of their outstanding efforts, six students were felicitated with trophies: three from the Primary category and three from the Middle category. The awards were presented by Principal Madam Shabnam Kausar.

World Environment Day Celeberated by AGS BANDIPORA with great enthusiasm. Besides, our students also participated in the programs organized by District Administration Bandipora.

26 May 2025: Gopi Singh Rathore Army Goodwill School Bandipora is organizing one week internship program for the students to provide them practical knowledge about different sectors. Today was the first day of this week, and on the first day, our students visited the nearby Sericulture Farm. Almost 25 students of class 9th and 10th visited the farm along with the principal and the concerned teachers.
The outcome of day 1 was that students got a lot of knowledge about the life cycle and lifestyle of silkworms. They learned about the process of making silk. They got knowledge about the history of silkworms and their importance. They got a chance to observe silkworms in large number. Students also got new business ideas. They realized the importance of mulberry trees.They observed and gained practical knowledge about whole process of of silkworms or silk production. The interns got hands-on experience on silk worms breeding, feeding, and cocoon harvesting and understood the process of silk extraction and processing. They learned about the conditions and temperature and cleaness required for optimal growth of silkworms. All the students were glad and hoped to get knowledge about other sectors also in the coming days of this internship week....

23 May 2025: Today, a state level chess championship was organized by All J&K Chess Association under the aegis of All India Chess Federation, and it was held at Indoor stadium Srinagar. Almost 84 students from different schools under different age categories participated in this championship.
9 students from Gopi Singh Rathore Army Goodwill School Bandipora also participated in this championship, and it gives us immense pleasure to share that one student, namely Fatima-tu-Zohra, student of class 8th achieved a remarkable feat by winning the Gold Medal under 13 Category in this event. Another student, namely Sameem Iqbal, student of class 6th won a silver medal under 11 Category. Competing against some of the best young chess talents from across the state, they showcased exceptional strategic skills and composure throughout the tournament. This prestigious victory is a testament to their dedication, sharp intellect, and passion for the game. Proud Moment for AGS Bandipora

Forest Department Bandipora, in collaboration with District Administration Bandipora and NHPC, organised a plantation drive at NHPC Bandipora. The plantation drive led by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, was aimed to promote environmental sustainability and green initiatives.
Almost 20 students from 10 schools of district Bandipora participated in the speech competition. It gives us immense pleasure to share that one student of our school namely *Sehreen Wani* of class 9th bagged 2nd Position. (25th March 2025) Army Goodwill School Bandipora has a long standing tradition of preservation of culture, heritage and flora and fauna." In order to sensitize students towards the need to preserve environment and ecology, tree plantation drives are organised in the School from time to time. One such drive was held on today, during which trees were planted around the area of NHPC Bandipora." DFO, Range Officer, Principal Mrs. Shabnam Kousar, Vice Principals, Incharge of Co-curricular Activities and many other teachers were present on the occasion and they planted numerous trees. On the occasion Principal highlighted the importance of plants in our lives and urged the people to plant more and more trees. She said the best gift a person can give to the world is to plant a tree that provides fresh oxygen to the people and helps in curbing global warming....
